Property Services Company Secures Deal to Enhance North West Homes

National contractor Seddon Property Services has sealed a £2.5 million deal to keep hundreds of houses across North West England.

The three year, partnering agreement involves cyclical maintenance to social housing properties managed by the Regenda Group in North Cheshire, North Manchester and Merseyside.

It follows a successful working relationship between the painting and property maintenance company and Bolton-based Regenda.

Andy Woodhouse, Seddon Property Services Regional Manager within the North West, said: “We have got worked successfully with Regenda for 2 years after winning tenders for pre-paint repair and painting work.

“We’re delighted that this has resulted in a proper partnering agreement between Seddon and Regenda for 2009 to 2011.

“We’ll be working side by side with Regenda on community projects and we’ve agreed to offer two people per annum the risk to coach for a career through apprenticeships.”

The apprentice positions are being advertised through Regenda’s tenants’ newsletter in order that a tenant, or member of a tenant’s family, has the chance to launch a brand new career.

This partnering agreement covers four of the Regenda group’s housing associations; Limehurst Village Trust (often known as LVT) in Oldham, Templar Housing within the Macclesfield and Stockport areas, West Pennine Housing Association in north Manchester and Maritime Housing Association on Merseyside.

Seddon Property Services will carry-out cyclical external pre-painting repairs, painting work and enhancements to wooden double glazed window units.

Mr Woodhouse added: “The work should be executed from Seddon’s offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool and Preston. A lot of our staff work within the areas within which they live that is something that, as an organization, we regard as important. The partnering agreement may also help to give sustainability to the local communities by providing job security for area people.”

Community involvement is a feature of the various partnerships, with Seddon staff working alongside housing associations to stage community events and help local projects.
